Akshaye Khanna

The son of the illustrious film actor Vinod Khanna of Qurbaani fame, Akshaye Khanna evokes respect for his acting with his charming smile and brooding demeanor. Akshaye khanna, 5' 9" tall was born on 30th March 1975.

He debuted in ?Himalyaputra? a film produced by his father, which flopped miserably at the box office but stamped his image as an intense actor. His Next film, J.P. Dutta?s Border won him accolades. In this movie he played a sensitive soldier, SGT. Dharamveer Singh who is martyred on the border of Longewala. This role got him the Lux Zee Cine Best Supporting Actor Award, Filmfare Best Newcomer Award in 1997.

For the next six years Akshaye Khanna?s film career was tumultuous with films not even being able to get back their returns, until Taal happened. Taal, though, a huge hit put Anil Kapoor, the other actor, into the limelight leaving Akshaye Khanna being appreciated by only a few loyalists. In 2002 Akshaye khanna came back with a bang in Farhaan Akhtar?s ?Dil chahata hai?. He got 'Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award' in 2002 for Dil Chahta Hai.

The films? following Dil Chahta Hai have been commercially quite successful but has not really tapped on the artist?s talent. Currently Akshaye khanna waits the release of Salaam E Ishq: a Tribute to Love.

Even before he became a star Akshaye developed an aura around him. In reality, Akshaye is a homely guy and an extremely private person. He refuses to let anyone into his private and personal space and because of this he lacks the media's good graces. Self-belief has been Akshaye's strongest asset.

Today Akshaye Khanna is content to concentrate on just one project at a time. This talented actor will go a very long way.
